October 2012| The Spanish members of 7 EC funded projects eSESH, BECA, 3eSoHo, SMARTSPACES, 3e HOUSES, GreenHospitals and Showe-it organise a workshop in Barcelona, Spain, on 13 November 2012. The workshop is about ICT and its contribution to managing energy use in social housing and public building.

SMARTSPACES meeting in Belgrade on national Serbian TV

Belgrade, September 2012| On 4th and 5th September 2012, the SMARTSPACES partners met in Belgrade, Serbia. One highlight was the attendance of Dejan Vasovic, the third major of Belgrade, who emphasised the relevance of SMARTSPACES for the green and technological agenda of Belgrade. Several newspapers and a TV show reported about the meeting.


First SMARTSPACES newsletter now available

On 20 June 2012 the first SMARTSPACES newsletter was published. It gives a brief overview of the project, The results already achieved after half year project duration, provides more information on one of its pilot site - the Bristol site - and a presentation of the results from the first SMARTSPACES workshop which took place in May 2012 at the Floriade 2012 in Venlo, The Netherlands.

Venlo, 9 May 2012| The SMARTSPACES consortium carried out the first project workshop presenting four of its 11 pilot sites located all over Europe.


SMARTSPACES consortium met for a successful kick-off event in Bristol

Bristol, January 2012| The SMARTSPACES project was officially launched at Bristol’s Create Centre with a special three-day kick off session with all the partners. Bristol City Council’s part in the project will focus on maximising the data provided by Automatic Meter Readers, which provide data on energy consumption every half hour for almost all of the council’s 500 buildings.


Launch of Europe-wide ‘SMARTSPACES’ project: Saving Energy in Europe’s Public Buildings using ICT

Bonn, January 2012| On 11 January 2012 the new SMARTSPACES project was officially launched at Bristol’s Create Centre. The seven million Euro project SMARTSPACES is co-funded by the European Commission within the CIP ICT Policy Support Programme and aims to improve energy monitoring of public buildings, develop and operate online services communicating the energy consumption of the building to all building users (staff members as well as visitors and professional building managers).
