SMARTSPACES pilot site Hagen at round table discussion in Luxembourg

The SMARTSPACES pilot site in Hagen took the chance to present their project during a round table discussion at the Klima Bündnis Luxembourg. The aim was to briefly present the project and its key figures to the audience before discussing it with experts from the field.

In his presentation, Dr. Wilfried Ponischowski from envi started with pointing out why Hagen chose a museum and the city hall for the project. Both objects were selected because they had extraordinary high energy consumption. Particularly the energy demand of the museum was three times larger than originally calculated. He then went on explaining the use of ICT for the project, showing key figures in the energy consumption of the buildings.

“The most important challenge is to find out the right way to reach the optimized operation of the technical systems. On this purpose we are now working on different strategies, which can be tables with a list of stepwise parameter changing for the controller”, Dr. Ponischowski explained.

He closed his presentation by mentioning the success of the project: energy savings of 30% for the museum and 10% for the city hall.
